Nine-Hole Qualifying Competitions

The 2008-2011 revision of the CONGU® Unified Handicapping System, formally incorporated Nine-Hole Qualifying Competitions within Clause 22, which can be run at the discretion of affiliated golf clubs.

This format of Qualifying Competition has been introduced to provide additional opportunities for those golf club Members who are challenged, for whatever reason, to play 18-Hole Qualifying Competitions frequently enough to establish and maintain a CONGU® Handicap representaitve of their potential and current ability.

The Nine-Hole Qualifying Information Sheet in the Related Documents section outlines the background and key aims of Nine-Hole Qualifying Competitions.

An application form for golf clubs to apply for a Nine-Hole Standard Scratch Score is also available in the Related Documents section.

The following updates have been made to the CONGU UHS, effective 1 January 2011:

Clause 22.10:
The restriction on the number of Nine-Hole Qualifying Competitions that can be run by any recognised section of a golf club will be removed, with effect from 1 January 2011.
