Scottish Ladies Golfing Association (SLGA) |  | The governing body for ladies and girls amateur golf in Scotland, responsible for managing the major national amateur championships for ladies and girls in Scotland, selecting, training and managing the Scottish teams, and administering the CONGU unified handicapping system and LGU SSS system in Scotland. The SGU works closely with the SLGA as part of the One Plan for Golf programme, whilst the SLGA are also a partner of clubgolf. | | Link: www.slga.co.uk | Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) |  | The PGA is a members association for professional golfers, with more than 7,000 registered PGA pros in Britain. The PGA is dedicated to training and serving golf professionals, whose principal aim is to deliver a highly professional service to amateurs at a club, driving range or other golf facility. The Scottish PGA is based at Gleneagles and runs the Tartan Tour. The PGA is also a partner of One Plan for Golf and clubgolf. | | Link: www.pga.info | sportscotland |  | The national agency for sport in Scotland, dedicated to helping increase participation and improve performances. Sportscotland works with and brings together the key organisations in Scottish sport, supporting them in development and delivery. Recently announced an annual investment of £911,000 into golf to support the SGU, SLGA and clubgolf, of which they are a key partner. | | Link: www.sportscotland.org.uk | Scottish Institute of Sport (SIS) | | The Scottish Institute of Sport supplies expert coaching, service and support for the country’s best athletes, with the aim of nurturing our best sporting talent to deliver world class performances. A hub of expert support service providers work together to manage and deliver cutting edge programmes, including coaching, sports medicine, sports science and career and lifestyle guidance. | | Link: www.sisport.com | R&A |  | The R&A is golf’s world rules and development body, most famous for being the organiser of The Open Championship. It operates with the consent of more than 130 national and international, professional and amateur organisations from over 30 countries on behalf of an estimated 30 million golfers in Europe Africa, Asia-Pacific and The Americas. The R&A is based at the Royal & Ancient Golf Club in St Andrews and runs some of the game’s major amateur events, including The Amateur Championship and Boys Home Internationals. | | Link: www.randa.org | European Tour |  | In 2007, the European Tour was responsible for 52 professional tournaments across 25 countries, with prize money in excess of £90million, compared to a prize fund of £250,000 when the Tour was born in 1972. The Tour also manages the European Challenge Tour and European Seniors Tour. Works closely with the SGU to promote junior golf and talent development in Scotland, through events such as The Scottish Open, The Johnnie Walker Championship, The Senior British Open and Scottish Challenge. | | Link: www.europeantour.com | EventScotland | | Scotland’s dedicated national events organisation responsible for attracting, creating and developing sporting and cultural events throughout the country. Established in 2003, EventScotland co-ordinates the Scottish Executive’s Major Events Strategy. EventScotland has a key role in golf in Scotland and is the lead player in Scotland’s 2014 Ryder Cup. Its regional events programme provided funding worth £16,000 to support the SGU’s hosting of the 2007 European Amateur Team Championships. | | Link: www.eventscotland.org | VisitScotland |  | With Scotland’s iconic status as The Home of Golf, VisitScotland - Scotland’s national tourism agency – are a major player in promoting our country’s 550 golf courses to the rest of the world. The SGU works closely with VisitScotland on projects such as golf tourism research and supporting our annual golf club seminars, whilst VisitScotland also support Scotland’s major golf events, including The Open Championship, The Scottish Open and Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open. | | Link: www.visitscotland.com | Scottish Enterprise | | Scotland’s enterprise, innovation and investment agency supporting business growth and the development of the country’s business and economic environment. Scottish Enterprise has supported the Scottish Golf Union with the SGU Golf Central website service, investing in IT training and marketing for golf club administrators. | | Link: www.scottish-enterprise.com | The Sportsman’s Charity |  | Founded in 1983 by former Scotland rugby internationalists David MacLean and John Frame, The Sportsman’s Charity was set up to provide opportunities for others which they themselves, as Sportsmen, had enjoyed in all fields. Their mission is to make charity-giving a natural and involving experience, by those who can, for those who cannot. The SGU supports The Sportsman’s Charity’s annual Corporate Golf Challenge at Turnberry, in return receives funding for the SGU Academy programme for young male and female golfers. | | Link: www.sportsmanscharity.com | Tayburn |  | Tayburn are one of the UK’s leading design consultancies and celebrate 30 years of business in 2008. With offices in Edinburgh and Manchester, Tayburn boast a client list which is the envy of many in their marketplace, including RBS, Scottish & Newcastle, Glenmorangie, British Golf Museum and Glasgow 2014 Commonwwealth Games.
