Our Targets

Our targets are challenging, aspirational and reflect the overall mission of making Scotland a world power in golf.

Some of the key targets are summarised below:

* 2 Scots in the 2014 European Ryder Cup team
* 7 Scots in the top 100 of the European Tour Order of Merit
* 3 Scots in the top 100 of the Professional World Rankings
* 5 Scots in the top 50 of the World Amateur Golf Rankings
* To have won the Eisenhower Trophy by 2012 with a top 10 finish each staging (World Men’s Amateur Team Championship)

These targets can be monitored by viewing the Scottish standings in the latest rankings.

We have ambitious targets which reflect our aims. Scotland are the reigning World Amateur Team Champions following Wallace Booth, Gavin Dear and Callum Macaulay’s victory in the Eisenhower Trophy in Adelaide, Australia whilst four young Scottish ladies represented GB&I in the 2008 Curtis Cup at St Andrews.

Scotland were the 2007 World Champions of professional golf after their win at Mission Hills, China. Richie Ramsay became the first Scot in more than 100 years to win the US Amateur Championship in 2006, whilst Lloyd Saltman won the Silver Medal for leading amateur in the 2005 Open Championship, finishing in 15th place.

These recent successes demonstrate what can be achieved and lay some of the foundations for the future success of Scotland’s golfers at the highest level on the world stage.
