Area Associations
The Scottish Golf Union has 16 Area Associations, each representing clubs in specific areas of Scotland. The Area Associations are responsible for supporting clubs in their area, primarily focused on running and managing events and championships, Area teams at all age groups and provide clubs with further communication link to the Scottish Golf Union.
The Lothians Golf Association is the largest Area, comprising of 75 golf clubs and 53 non-course owning clubs, whilst Clackmannan County Golf Union is the smallest with 6 clubs. Each Area Association is a Shareholder of the Scottish Golf Union and has a representative on the SGU’s Area Council.
