Highlights of the Belhaven Best Scottish Club Handicap Championship Grand Final are now free to view on SGU TV – are you filmed in action?
Over 10 minutes of edited footage from the final is captured on camera, showing golfers from across Scotland in all their glory as they competed for the prestigious title.
In glorious conditions at The Fairmont, St Andrews, Bathgate handled the heat to come through as Scotland’s Best Handicap partnership for 2011. Colin McGarry and Alan Aitken fired a title-winning, nine-under-par 63 on a day of low scoring over The Torrance Course.
In doing so, they become the twelfth winners of Scotland’s biggest participation golf event. Some 24,000 golfers across 280 clubs set off in pursuit of success through local and regional qualifying, with Bathgate taking the spoils in the 40-team grand final shoot-out.
McGarry and Aitken eventually won a tight finish by two shots from four teams, runners-up Balbirnie Park, Strathaven, Edinburgh Western and Balfron, all who fired 65’s, with Esporta Dougalston and Cruden Bay a shot further back.
