Bradley Neil has added the Reid Trophy to his Scottish Under 14s title

Blairgowrie’s Bradley Neil has added the English Under 14s title to his growing trophy cabinet after defeating a strong field to win the Reid Trophy at Hesketh in Southport today.

Neil starting the day at one under par closed with a 75 to win by four shots from City of Newcastle’s Jack Hermeston.

The Scots youngster underlined his reputation as the top home nations player in his age group as he became the second successive Scottish winner of the prestigious title following on from Ewan Scott’s victory last year.

Neil had to battle back from a disappointing start to his final round with bogeys at three of the first five holes on his way to a three-over par front nine.

However the youngster showed both determination and maturity to par every hole in the back nine to give him his second national title of 2010.

In a truly outstanding season for Neil, he adds the Reid Trophy to his Scottish Under 14’s title, Bradley was also runner up at the Loretto School Scottish Under 16s at Auchterarder and became the youngest ever winner of the Blairgowrie’s Men’s Club Championship.
