Today’s Belhaven Best Captains & Secretaries Championship Final (21 September) became another casualty of the weather after torrential rain and flooding at host venue Pollok caused the event to be abandoned.

With the forty finalist club pairings set to tee off in a shotgun start at 1030, the Scottish Golf Union events team delayed the start until 1300. However, after consultation with the Pollok greenstaff and further heavy rain, several greens were flooded and a decision was taken to postpone the event.

The Final will now be played on Wednesday 5 October with a 1030 shotgun start and competitors are advised that the same draw will apply. Any club wishing to make a change to their team due to the unavailability of a player should contact the SGU Events Team on 01334 466477. Substitute players should be a senior member of the club’s committee.
