Carrick Neill Scottish Stroke Play Championship: Now Showing on SGU TV
15/06/12Highlights of the recent Carrick Neill Scottish Stroke Play Championship, played out at Kilmarnock (Barassie), are now showing on SGU TV! The prestigious 72-hole event, one of the biggest tournaments on the domestic calendar, saw a stellar field gather on the Ayrshire coast. Two years after his fellow Frenchman, Romain Wattel, captured the title at Glasgow Gailes, Paul Barjon emulated the feat thanks to a superb finish. The 19-year-old strung together closing day rounds of 73 and 68 for a 10-under aggregate of 282 and won by four shots from Australia's Rory Bourke and the fast finishing South African, Haydn Porteous, as the Scottish challenge faded on the final day. Wattel, who hails from the French colony of New Caledonia, joined a winners’ list that also features the likes of Colin Montgomerie, Stephen Gallacher and Richie Ramsay.
