This is Scotland's national boy's amateur match play championship and one of the SGU's flagship events, providing the traditional kick start to the domestic golf season. Previous winners include Andrew Coltart, Steven O'Hara and Brian Marchbank.
Entry Details: This Championship is open to any male amateur golfer who was either born in Scotland, has one parent or grandparent born in Scotland or can prove principal, permanent residency in Scotland for a period of not less than 3 years, and has not played for any other countrys International Team at Boys level or higher, be under the age of 18 at 00.01 on 1 January 2010. The starting field shall be 256 and, in the event of an over-entry, the number shall be reduced in order of exact handicap.

The West Kilbride Golf Club lies on a beautiful strip of linksland and raised beach adjacent to the coastal village of Seamill, West Kilbride and is the most northerly of Ayrshires true Links courses. With its magnificent views of Arran, Bute and Cowal it makes a wonderful venue fort he game and a fine test of golf. In similar fashion to St. Andrews, the course follows an anti-clockwise route with a loop at the far end around the turn.
