The national open championship for golfers aged 25 and over. The first stage of the Championship will be decided by stroke play over two rounds of 18 holes to be played on the Saturday. The lowest 16 scores over the 36 holes will compete in the second stage of the Championship. The remainder will be eliminated. The qualifiers will be seeded. Ties for last place or places will be decided by the count-back formula. The second stage of the Championship will be match play and will commence on the Sunday. Each match, including the Final, will consist of one round of 18 holes. In the event of a halved match in any round, play shall continue until one player wins a hole, when the match will be considered won.

Entry Details: Entrants must be aged 25 or over at 00.01 on 12 June 2010. The starting field shall be 78 and, in the event of an over-entry, the number shall be reduced in order of exact handicap. Entrants who have failed to gain entry will be allocated to a reserve list by order of handicap.

The Club was founded in 1922 and was designed by the most famous course architect of the day James Braid. The course is a typical Braid moorland course and makes full use of the contours of the land. This course is a great example of these design ideas in practice.
