| Monty's Monthly Medal, launched for the first time last year, gives club golfers in Scotland the opportunity to play alongside Colin Montgomerie in the grand final on Monday 20 August 2012 at The Carrick on Loch Lomond. The event will raise money for the Elizabeth Montgomerie Foundation, a charity launched by Monty in memory of his late mother who sadly died of lung cancer, with proceeds going towards the building of two new Maggies Centres in Aberdeen and Lanarkshire. |
Entry Details:
The event is open to all SGU and SLGA affiliated golf clubs hosting a qualifying competition between Monday, 5 March and Sunday, 22 July. Golfers participating in their nominated club competition can pay a £3 entry fee to take part in Monty's Monthly Medal. The leading 72 nett scores against CSS across Scotland submitted by their clubs will qualify for the Grand Final. Each group competing in the final will play one hole alongside Colin Montgomerie. For clubs not hosting a qualifying competition, individual golfers affiliated to the SGU or SLGA can also enter Monty's Monthly Medal themselves. In the Scottish Golf Shop, simply add Monty's Monthly Medal to your basket. On receipt of payment you will receive a registration form with details of how to nominate your qualifying competition and submit your score.
