Scottish Golf Rules School
Following the success of the inaugural Rules School with the R&A in March 2014, we are delighted to confirm that the next Level 2 course will be held in St Andrews, 18-20 March 2015.
This course forms part of the R&A Rules Education Programme. Ideally, delegates should successfully complete each stage before progressing to the next level, attaining and building a comprehensive Rules knowledge in the process. The three levels are:
Level 1 Introductory Rules School, available on-line
Level 2 Rules School, Provisional Programme
Level 3 Tournament Administrators and Referees School
The course is open to golf club officials and members of an affiliated golf club within GB&I with an interest in refereeing and for those who wish to further their knowledge of the Rules of Golf.
The 2½ day course seeks to develop and enhance your knowledge by guiding you through Rules and outlines the importance of the defined terms used in the rule book providing an insight into the rules by using practical demonstrations, question and answer sessions and interactive DVD and presentations. The School is run by qualified instructors from the R&A, SGU and SLGA, all with experience of refereeing at some of the world’s most elite amateur and professional tournaments.
Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The cost per delegate is £100, this includes a Decisions on the Rules of Golf publication, and practice papers. This also includes lunch and refreshments during the course. Preparation packs will be issued early January 2015.
