Job Vacancy: Director of Development, Scottish Golf

A fantastic job opportunity has arisen within Scottish Golf, the governing body for the game in Scotland, to lead the organisation’s Development team and inspire growth across our clubs and golfing communities.

The successful candidate will be tasked with driving positive change within Scotland’s golf clubs through business development, membership growth, community engagement and increased participation among new audiences. You will motivate a team of Regional Club Development Officers providing support to our clubs, working with senior management colleagues to influence new ways of thinking to build a sustainable future for golf in Scotland.

Based at The Duke’s in St Andrews, this is a senior role within our management structure with line management responsibility for our Regional Club Development Officers, School & Community Officers, Golf Services and Coaching teams. The role will also involve regular engagement with other golf industry partners, Scottish Government agencies, club managers and volunteers.

Applicants should have a track record of success in a leadership role combined with strong business development experience in an environment where digital technologies have been used to drive business growth and engage and communicate with consumers and stakeholders. You should have a good grasp of how products and services are evolving to meet consumer needs, and be highly motivated with a passion for the game of golf. Great people and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively are essential.

Above all, we are seeking an energetic individual with the ability to develop relationships with key partners and stakeholders and lead their team through a period of change and support the delivery of Scottish Golf’s strategic ambitions.
