Job Vacancy: Women & Young People Development Manager

An exciting job opportunity has been created within Scottish Golf through support from our partners at The R&A and The 2019 Solheim Cup, with an ambitious individual sought to drive the growth of female participation in our sport.

With a number of major events being hosted in Scotland over the next three-year period, particularly the Solheim Cup coming to Gleneagles in 2019, Scotland has a fantastic platform from which we can increase the number of women and young people, particularly girls, engaging in golf.

We are seeking a suitably motivated candidate for this role, who can inspire and energise stakeholders within the game through innovative solutions, partnership working and the successful delivery of women and young people-specific projects.

The candidate should possess the drive to meet ambitious targets and maximise the opportunities created by The Open 2018, The 2019 Solheim Cup and PING Junior Solheim Cup, as well as other events and initiatives currently supporting the women’s game.

The successful applicant must be self-motivated and people-oriented with a ‘can do’ attitude and a results driven approach. You should be passionate about growing the game of golf, have a proven track record in project delivery and bring creative-thinking to the role. Previous experience of working in sports development will be advantageous, as will an ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, clubs and other stakeholders.

This new post is co-funded by The R&A and The 2019 Solheim Cup with a three-year contract commitment. The post-holder will be employed by Scottish Golf and based at The Duke’s in St Andrews, with regular travel to Edinburgh and across Scotland.

A salary reflecting the post holders experience and position within the organisation will be offered.
