Junior Scottish Open Regional Qualifiers – Entry Form
With Dundonald Links welcoming the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open for the first time this summer, young golfers are also being handed the chance to be crowned a national champion when the Junior Scottish Open returns to the domestic calendar this July.
On the eve of a number of the world’s best golfers teeing up at Dundonald, the Junior Scottish Open will be staged nearby over the excellent municipal layout of Troon Links, Lochgreen on Tuesday 11 July.
After the success of last year’s inaugural Junior Scottish Open at Fortrose & Rosemarkie, the event has been extended this year to involve regional qualifying ahead of the finale in Ayrshire.
Competitors will then have the chance to watch stars such as Henrik Stenson, Adam Scott and Russell Knox in action at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open Pro-Am on Wednesday 12 July, with juniors going for free and each team receiving two adult tickets.
After the opening Dunnikier Park qualifier on 20 May, further regional events are to follow at reigning Scottish Golf Club of the Year, Muir of Ord, on Sunday 11 June, Aboyne on Sunday 2 July, and at ex-Junior Club of the Year winner, Peebles, on Tuesday 4 July.
Ayr Seafield and Callander are also now holding events on 25 June.
The event is open to all affiliated clubs in Scotland who are invited to enter a team of three juniors (aged under-16 at 11 July 2017), to be accompanied by one adult player. Dunnikier Park staged the first regional qualifier with the support of the Fife Golf Trust.
The leading teams from each regional qualifier will book a place in the Junior Scottish Open at Lochgreen. The event will be played in a fourball better ball format with the best nett score being recorded at each hole. The adult player may only record their nett score a maximum of 6 times.
Your team should be made up of one adult and three juniors aged under 16 at 11 July 2017. The adult must have an official CONGU handicap, juniors may have either a current CONGU Handicap (ideally 10-28 for boys / 10-36 for girls) or a Club Handicap.
These events are aimed at attracting juniors new to competition, creating a learning opportunity in a more relaxed environment and building confidence to take part in future events. The adult is there to support the juniors in making the most of the experience.
Entry for the regional qualifiers is £15 per team payable on the day to contribute to the cost of catering and prizes.
