Nominations

The Scottish Golf Academy is currently searching for Scotland’s aspiring and dedicated young golfers for the 2018/19 performance programme.

If you are over the age of 12 and under the age of 16 on 1 January 2019 and have a handicap of 5 or under for boys and 8 or under for girls, then you can nominate yourself for consideration in the selection process. Nominations may also be considered from individuals who are outside of the age limit but have shown exceptional improvement over the past year and featured in national events.

Nominees are also asked to fit the following criteria:

  • Show willingness to compete outwith club level e.g. Boys & Girls Order of Merit events, Area & County Junior Tours, Stephen Gallacher & Paul Lawrie events
  • Commitment to the entire Academy programme
  • Good attitude to coaching and a willingness to learn
  • Experience of a multi sport background
  • Desire to become a future Scottish Internationalist and to succeed to the highest level
  • Nominations for the Scottish Golf Academy close at noon on 26 August 2018

Nominated players progress will be tracked until the closing date. Players will be notified if they are successful or not by 3 September 2018

Assessment Dates for the Scottish Golf Performance Academy are 22 and 23 September 2018 at St Andrews Links. Please note successful applicants will be expected to attend both of the assessment dates.

Expectations of Scottish Golf Performance Academy Golfer:

  • Attend Performance days and Performance Academy residential camps
  • Complete Golf Data Lab and update CoachNow
  • Good communication with Scottish Golf and allocated Regional Performance Coach
  • Provide a plan for your own development decided with both your Personal Coach and Regional Performance Coach
