The R&A has announced an initial squad players who are in contention for selection for the Great Britain and Ireland team to play against the United States of America in the 47th Walker Cup match at Royal Liverpool.
The 26-strong squad includes six Scots as the team continue to prepare for the biennial encounter which will be played on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September with GB&I aiming to win back the trophy after losing 19-7 at the Los Angeles Country Club two years ago.
Six Scots have been given the call-up to this year’s squad, including Scottish Men’s Amateur Champion, Euan McIntosh, 2019 African Amateur Champion, Euan Walker and Sandy Scott, who won the El Macero Classic earlier this month.
