Shannon McWilliam started playing golf when she was nine, after walking around the course with her father and brother. Her early wins include the Nick Faldo Series Under-16 Regional Final at Panmure in 2013, going on to finish seventh in the grand final at the Greenbrier, West Virginia, aged 14. Shannon has had many notable achievements at club and county level: she became the youngest-ever winner of the Aberdeenshire Women’s County Championship in 2014; and beat her club’s 25-year-old course record, shooting a seven-under par 65 in June 2016. Shannon was invited to play in the 2016 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, where she finished tied for ninth in the team event with Joakim Lagergren.

Did You Know?

Shannon played two holes with the European and US team captains, Paul McGinley and Tom Watson, during an event to celebrate “a Year to Go” until The Ryder Cup, held at Gleneagles in 2014.
