Management Development Programme
The Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE), with content input from Scottish Golf, offers Club Managers and Secretaries the opportunity to build on the skill sets they have brought with them from a previous career, by supplementing these with specific training in each of the core competencies areas of the modern club manager.
The week-long Part 1 course is targeted in particular at those managers who are either new to the post, recently appointed or simply want to enhance their knowledge.
The Part 2 course builds on that knowledge and opens the route to the optional CMAE Diploma in Club Management, and ultimately the CCM qualification. The curriculum for all MDP training courses is provided by the Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE) and endorsed by the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA).
The Scottish Golf Club Managers Association (SGCMA) offers a grant to smaller clubs wishing to send a member of staff on an MDP Level 1 or 2 training course. For more information on this opportunity, please contact your Regional Club Development Officer.
Further courses within the MDP pathway are also available. MDP in Golf Management is focused on those with particular responsibility for the successful golf operations at their club. MDP Strategy and Leadership is the newest edition to the pathway. These courses are available to managers across Europe.

“I learned more about my current job in five days on the training course than I learned in five years,” Tom Cummings, Secretary at Kirkintilloch GC, attendee in 2011
