Scottish Golf is the governing body for the amateur game in Scotland established in 2015
Scotland is widely known as the ‘Home of Golf’ and it is a game that since the 15th century has played a key role in the nation’s sporting consciousness. The nation is blessed with almost 600 golf clubs located across every community in Scotland, including unquestionably some of the most popular courses in the world.
The successful candidate will lead and develop a strategy for the game in Scotland to deliver outcomes that ensure the game is fit for the 21st Century. This will involve close collaboration with our clubs, our club members and other key stakeholders to build a sustainable future for the sport in the country where it was conceived.
Whilst our heritage and traditions are second to none, we must also work with all stakeholders to break down the traditional barriers that are adversely impacting membership and participation, so that affordability, inclusiveness, welcoming and fun become the new adjectives synonymous with the game. Scottish Golf is a not for profit organisation, requiring the new CEO to attract greater levels of commercial revenue to boost investment, build strategic partnerships and develop impassioned teams who work hand in hand with our clubs to deliver a new sustainable future.
Our ideal candidate will be a proven and highly visible board level business leader who can demonstrate transforming an organisation both culturally and commercially. They will possess the intellect, courage, resilience and outstanding communication skills to collaborate across our membership, aligning resources and developing solutions that meet the needs of individual clubs.
Our game requires a person of high integrity with a love for golf in Scotland, which alongside energy, determination, humility and entrepreneurial thinking, will be critical to success.
Most importantly, the ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for the game of golf at grassroots level, both regionally and nationally.
If you have the experience, appetite and belief to fundamentally transform our game putting “participation for all” at the heart of what we represent and see this opportunity as an irresistible privilege then please email your CV in confidence to – Eleanor Cannon at firstname.lastname@example.org or post to Eleanor at Scottish Golf, The Duke’s, St Andrews, KY16 8NX.
Interviews will be held in St Andrews the week commencing Monday 20 November 2017.
