Club volunteers up and down the country are our unsung heroes every year. They are an army of regional and national volunteers who assist us at numerous events – and we simply could not run the sport without their endeavours.
Volunteers do it for their love of the sport, for the enjoyment they get from golf; for the satisfaction of helping out. Many are club stalwarts, who assist time and time again, often during unsociable hours and without wanting recognition for their efforts.
However, we want to ensure our volunteers do feel rewarded, whether that be coaching youngsters, working on your club committee or supporting Scottish Golf at a national level. We support volunteering at all levels to help clubs continue to attract helpers and as our way of saying thanks to the people we are indebted to.
Club and Volunteer of the Year Awards
The annual Club of the Year and Volunteer of the Year accolades are hotly-contested awards every year, featuring the clubs and individuals from across Scotland who have demonstrated excellence in promoting golf for young people over 12 months. Winners in each category are presented at the glittering annual Scottish Golf Awards, alongside some of the sport’s biggest names, like Sam Torrance, Sandy Lyle and Stephen Gallacher.
