SportsAid Scotland helps the next generation of British sports stars by giving them financial support and recognition during the critical early years of their careers.
These athletes are typically aged 12 to 18 and are among the brightest hopes for future Olympic and Paralympic success, as well as other sporting achievements.
SportsAid Scotland is very proud to have Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge as the charity’s Patron – a champion of future champions.
In 2018, 12 players were awarded funding to the tune of over £11,750. In addition, there were additional grants to support girls’ development camps and U16 development opportunities.
Past recipients of bursaries include Sir Chris Hoy and Solheim Cup golfer Janice Moodie, along with many other Olympic and Commonwealth Games medalists and highly talented golfers.
The awards are to assist golfers with the expenses they incur for training and competition, and are valid for a year.
