Loretto and Scottish Golf, working in partnership

Loretto is the oldest boarding school in Scotland and was the first in the country to establish their own golf academy. This week’s Championship was the UK’s largest school golf competition and attracts players from all over the country.

The Loretto Golf Academy, established in 2002, offers pupils the exceptional opportunity to develop their sporting talent in tandem with a first-class education.  The Loretto Golf Academy delivers golf to pupils form the age of 5 right up to 18, while also offering camps throughout the summer for 10 to 16-year-olds.

The golf school operates from the School’s practice facilities and local golf courses in East Lothian, and is led by their Director of Golf, Rick Valentine, and a top-class team of Loretto coaching professionals.

Scottish Golf’s partnership with Loretto stretches back to 2004 when the School first supported the Scottish Boys’ and Girls’ Under-14s Championships. This partnership has grown from strength to strength since and Scottish Golf are delighted to have supported the 2019 Loretto Golf Academy Junior Championship and Simmers Cup and are proud to continue our partnership with Loretto until 2021.
